At Kraggenburg in Flevoland there is a Barefeet trail: the Bottem of the sea trail. A great day trip in sping or summer with the kids. We went there last weekend after a tip from one of my friends and we enjoyed it so much, I would like to tell you all about it. Also if you don’t live nearby, it is sure worth driving to. You can stop for lunch somewhere nice and make it a day trip.  The path starts with a cupboard to leave your shoes in. That’s where you get a short briefing of what to do next. After that you take aÂ
Kneipp-bath. That’s when your feet can get used to the fact they are going to do something different: your muscles wake up because of the cold and your circulation starts to work. After that you start the hike, that is marked with wooden feet. It’s not much fun telling you too much about the trail, but the surroundings are beautiful. You walk through fields of flowers, corn and wheat. Â
You walk on different surfaces and feel the textures under your feet, walk through puddles where the frogs jump from under your feet and try to stroll through the slippery water. My tip: don’t wear your nicest summerdress, make sure you wear pants you can roll up or shorts. The hike takes about 1 hour, so if you take small children with you about 2 hours, with a break every now and than. Halfway you find a picknick table where you can take a rest, enjoy the view and drink or eat something. After that you can hike the rest of the trail. I had little Yuren in a sling, and when he felt like it, he walked with us. Sterre who now is 4 years old didn’t want to try everything, fortunately every wet part of the trail also has a side trail for those who don’t want to get wet or are afraid to walk that part. Afterwards you can have a drink or an icecream at
 Paviljoen T127. Recommendation!
