It’s a little strange that I never wrote anything about decorating cakes before. Because if something is hip nowadays, it’s just that. Often I am at a party where the hostess obviously spent hours working on a beautiful cake. I admire the constructions and my daugter keeps asking me to make a beautiful princess cake like that for her birthday. I might be able to do it, and I love to bake and I’m pretty good at it, I dare to say. But I never tried making a cake like that. Nog even en dan is het zover: mijn kleine meisje gaat naar school! Een nieuwe (spannende) fase. Ik heb er alle vertrouwen in dat het goed zal gaan. We hebben ons best gedaan haar voldoende zelfvertrouwen en geborgenheid mee te geven om zich staande te houden in haar schoolloopbaan. Langzaamaan bereiden we haar (en onszelf) voor op wat komen gaat. Een mooie schooltas, een beker, een broodtrommeltje. De school waar ze naar toe gaat zal met een continuerooster draaien, wat betekent dat ze op school gaat lunchen. Bij The Happy Luncher vond ik alles wat ik nodig heb.
