All illustrations are created by Studio Koekepeer and that’s how their first collection called ‘It’s a Beautiful Day’ originated. Beautifull tablewear, textiles and stationary items. As we speak my friend could be having her baby. She is calculated today to be exact. So exiting! If you ask me, the best part about newborns is the card. It’s almost always selected with the greatest care. I always like it even more when they put a picture on it of the miracle of life itself. I found another beautiful webpage with cards again! These cards can be described best as ‘ hip in simplicity’ Or less is more. They are simple but in a stylish way. Such original ideas. Like a clothes-line of photos. Or a heart made from fingerprints. Names written in the sky by an little airplane. Pure like love should be. All these beautiful things are available at mooi.ook. Besides wedding cards you can also find beauties of birthcards. And adoptioncards. As important as the others. With or without pictures. An old house, stork, birds in pink or blue, all too cute! Also very cute twins cards by the way.

While I am already looking forward to my sons’ first birthday I jump back into time to imagine how it was looking for a suitable birth card. It wasn’t that easy at first, because there is so much to find on the internet. We ended up making something ourselves. Not exactly what we had in mind, because I delivered 2 weeks early and we weren’t ready yet. So we had to make something in the little time we had. We like the results though. But just picking out one from the people that are really good at making the designs would have been easier. An issue with sending cards is that you had to put them in those dull white envelopes. Nowadays you can pick out a color, that makes it a lot better. But it could be even more fun if you can pimp your envelopes with nice closing stamps! Licking two envelopes to close them isn’t that much of a problem, but at 50 pieces, you might reconsider.
