If you are not going on a vacation, but would like to give your baby the experience of sleeping in a tent, this bedtent from Kidsshop Klein Duimpje looks like a lot of fun. Besides fun it also is practical, because it’s a mosquito net as well. They are available in many colours, so you can match the bedtent with every bedroom. They are even great to take with on trips. So, if you are going to the Garda Lake or somewhere else where you get bitten by mosquitos, this is a great solution! The bedtents are available in different price catagories, but the green has the best price at this moment, it’s only 24,95 euros!

Two very different products, but both very hip and handy and perfect to use on your next vacation. First this very cute rabbit night lamp. It works on batteries, (rechargeable would be good) and it burns, if necessary the entire night. It’s adorable and my 4 year old daughter was a big fan from the start, the little rabbit was always on her side. And you can put it in the tent, in case your children are afraid sleeping there. Next are the hip coolbags. Perfect to take lunch to school, or on the backseat of your car, or just to put in your backpack for a hike. The size is perfect, not too big, so you can put it in a bag, but big enough to put stuff in. I got the one with the apples, it make me happy! You can get the om night lights and the coolbags at Stip & Bloem.

On behalf of Stip & Bloem I can give away 3 coolbags of your choice!  Fill out this form and tell us in how many different prints they have the coolingbags avaiable on the webpage of Stip & Bloem and you could win a handy and hip bag. This competition lasts until August 11th, 2011.

Oh boy, soon everyone will have to spend hours driving with their kids on the backseat. Another challange to keep them busy and make sure they don’t get bored and fight all the time. On the  Gezinnig webpage I found this game called Katavu. It looks perfect to me, a bunch of cards with all kind of images that you can look for outside. From easy to hard to find, from pretty regular to very special. Some examples: a caracter on a licence plate, a blue car with a trailer, a hot air balloon, a traffice policeman, a cow and so on. Everyone gets 8 cards and it’s all about being the first to spot everything on your cards. Cards may also be traded, this can be either smart or makes it more difficult. So I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. Katavu sure gives them an hour of something to do on the backseat. So, you only need to think of something to do the following 7 hours….

On behalf of Gezinnig I can give away this game to a Hip & Hot reader for the backseat this summer! Tell us how many cards one box contains. Fill out this form and who knows, you might be surprising your kids with this fun game!
It’s vacation time. Some of you have already left, others will leave next weekend or the week after. No matter what, if you are going on a vacation, you have to travel. And go to the bathroom every now and then. Not always the cleanest, I’m not crazy about roadside bathrooms. I read that most of the bacterias are on the tap or doorhandle, so I always avoid touching them. I even tell my kids: don’t touch anything! After going to one of those toilets I always feel like sanatising. This will probably sound familiar to a lot of readers. Nowadays there is Aseptix, I received a press release about it. This hip looking product has been tested very extensively in laboratories and appears to be very suitable for hospitals, daycares etc. All Aseptix products offer a maximal protection against bacterias, fungi and virusses and can be used anywhere. The skinproducts do not dehydrate your skin but give it a clean and pleasant feel. Besides they have a minimum impact on our nature. The bottles also look nice. Perfect to take with you on vacation! Especially the sanatising handspray.
On behalf of Aseptix I can give away a bottle of sanatising handfoam! Tell us the price of the bottle sanatising handspray and fill out your answer on this form. This competition lasts until August 7th 2011.

Even though I’ve never been there, I have a thing for South-Africa. I especially like the language. I recognize things in it, that makes sense. That’s part of the reason why I like Sonpakkie so much. They sell UV protective clothes in all kinds of shapes and sizes. From baby to adults. Nowadays everyone can spend time in the sun being well protected. The Sonpakkies also look great. They have prints of pinguins, a giraffe, a submarine or just the text ”Sonpakkie”. Definitely hip and cool. They got it back there in South Africa.
If you want to get your own hip and handy Sonpakkie? You can now do so with a 10% discount! Fill out code HNH072011 when ordering and you will get your discount immediately. The code will be valid until July 29th, 2011.

While everyone is getting ready for their holiday we already had ours in France. It was lovely to stay at La Panacée in Rignac. The fact that we drove 2 hours to many (and had to drive 2 hours back) just to get there was sure worth it. We were welcomed with a delicious bottle of rose wine in the shades of the linden tree and forgot all about the long journey. The entire vacation was just about enjoying. La Panacée is a refurbished farm. Arjan en Lisette, who opened their Chambre d’ Hôte in the Lot, in 2009 after a long reconstruction, put a lot of effort to make every detail perfect. The rooms are luxurious, but kept their typical French atmosphere. The breakfasts are great, with fresh croissants,Â
jus d’orange and local products. They asked us each morning if we would join them for dinner and believe me, you would love to. Because enjoying Lisette and Arjans’ kitchen once makes you realize there aren’t that many restaurants that good. The personal highlights are the couscous, delicious fresh soups, pineapple crumble, the stuffed artichokes and pasta. They have a one course dinner one day and a 4 course dinner the other. It’s great to do fun things during the day, knowing you don’t have to think about getting groceries or kooking. Just join them at the long table outside, enjoy the kids playing, the sunset, a great wine and good conversations with the other guests. If you’d like more privacy, you can also go out for dinner in one of the nearby villages. There is enough to do in the environment, the webpage of La Panacée is full of suggestions. Visit the vintage markets, buy your wine in the nearby wine houses in Cahors for example, hike in nature, visit the Murel waterfalls, walk around in cities like Domme and Cahor, explore the Dordogne by canoe or spend a day doing nothing at the pool at La Panacée. Just vacation how vacation should be. I can definitely recommend you this great place to stay!
